Subject to client approval proceed to Stage 2
Stage 2 - Planning Stage
- Detailed ground investigation of potential turbine site by professional ground
Investigation Company including trial pits, dynamic probe testing, bearing
pressure testing and lab analysis of soil. To be attended also by consulting
engineer as required. (note proposed turbine location may need to be relocated
as a result of this investigation.) JCB, Excavator for trial pits to be provided by client.
Depending on location allow
- Topographical site survey (if requested by local authority)
- Obtain relevant OS mapping.
- Prepare planning application form, site notices, paper notices
- Prepare site layout drawings indicating turbine location and temporary
access road if required
- Collate appropriate manufacturers drawings and include prelim foundation
sizing based on ground test results.
- Liaise with Danu Wind Energy Solutions and incorporate shadow/flicker analysis etc that may be required.
- Lodge planning documentation and monitor and track progress.
Stage 3 - Construction Stage
- Foundation design input minimal in good ground conditions. Standard
manufacturers design applicable
- Should poor ground conditions be encountered at ground investigation stage
detailed foundation design including piling may be required. This will be
ascertained at stage 3 above.
- Three site inspections required by consulting engineer.
- Formation inspection after excavation.
- Rebar inspection prior to concrete pour of base
- Final inspection on erection of turbine.
- Final engineers report on construction phase
The erection of the turbine and commissioning will be carried out by trained specialists from Wind Technik Nord
